Greetings!

 

The idea behind this project slowly started taking form in 2009 when I was in my last year of Graphic Design. 

While studying Graphic Design, we were told to make a portfolio that sells our image as to who we are, I came up with the idea of doing a magazine-type portfolio, I would hand draw all the covers and interview the people for the main article.

 

The "magazine" would be web based and has the purpose of exposing up & comers with the already established veterans in various types of careers; whether it be dancers, singers, models, athletes, activists, authors, fashion designers, photographers, actors (in all mediums) etc.

 

It would also serve the purpose of inspiring & engaging people of all races, genders, & backgrounds ... I wanted to interview people who were doing something with their lives, people who aspired to make the world a better place, those who were chasing their dreams or overcoming adversity.

 

This idea really took hold when I was brought to the hospital & told I would I might not have long to live if I hadn't been admitted. It was then that I decided to do what I have always wanted to do, create my own website and interview people I admire. People who have the drive to go far in the hopes of inspiring others with their stories. I also wanted to interview people who are usually not given a voice (models, adult film entertainers) due to their respective careers.

 

I was released from the hospital in early 2010 after having been in there for almost 3 months. I am now 39 and have interviewed over 80 different personalities (and the list keeps growing). I am extremely grateful/thankful to all those who have agreed to take part in this project.

 

If anything, I hope you leave this site (and come back many more times) with the sense of having been inspired to live with a more purposeful life. I hope you will find a post/interview that will help ignite something in you that ensures you live the best life you can possibly lead. YOU ALL MATTER. Don't be so hard on yourself and remember that we all go through difficult times in our lives, the key is to find the hidden message within that trial period.
